6 Mistakes that you make while Washing your Face

Washing our faces is an act that we do every day. It is a very simple process yet many of us make mistakes in washing our faces and the best part is that we don’t even realize that we are washing it the wrong way.

So here are some mistakes that we might be making in washing our faces and don’t be surprised to find out that you have been doing the wrong thing ever since you can remember.

Over washing :- If we wash our face too many times in a day we risk the chance of losing all the essential oils in our face and thus make it dry and prone to wrinkles and dehydration. Stick to the rule of washing not more than twice a day, with the exception of an extra wash after or before workouts or after a day out.

Over-exfoliating :- Exfoliation is great for the skins as it scrubs away the dead cells, dirt, grime and dust collected on your skin. But do not exfoliate your skin everyday as it might be too harsh on your skin and lead to inflammation. Instead opt to use a scrub once in three days.

Not using the right face wash or cleanser:-There are hundreds of face washes available in the market. So how do we know which one to choose? Firstly select a face wash that suits your skin type. Figure out what kind of skin you have be it oily, dry or acne prone. Make sure you don’t buy one that is too harsh on your skin.

Failing to moisturize :-No matter what your skin type you have to moisturize your skin. Many people are of the wrong opinion that people who have oily skin don’t need to moisturize. Even I was of the same opinion. But the fact is that you should keep your face hydrated at all times. Just find one that suits your oily skin.

Towel scrub :-You can never cause more harm to your face than by harshly rubbing it with a towel. Instead tap your face with a towel to wipe of the water.

Washing using hot water:-Washing your face with hot water makes it dry and strips it of its natural oils. Instead wash your face using lukewarm or cold water.

5 Ways to get rid of stinky feet

Any bad smell is always associated with stinky feet. Some people just can’t help having stinky feet, especially those people who have hyper active sweat glands.

Here are some ways to prevent the growth of bacteria and germs in your feet, after you’ve rested your feet all day in your favorite pair of shoes.

Frequently change socks :- You sweat it all out in your socks. Damp places are the best places for bacteria and microbes to grow. Change your socks at least once or twice a day unless you want them to become germ colonies. So don’t hesitate to invest in a few extra pairs of socks.

Liberally spray on anti-fungal spray :- Before you put on your shoes and socks, spray on anti-fungal foot spray, not sparing the gaps between your toes. If you want further protection, you can sprinkle your feet with a dash of anti-fungal powder.

Air out your feet :-Airing your feet out by removing your socks and shoes is a great way to dry out the sweat and prevent the growth of bacteria and germs. But make sure that you are the only one around when you do it. You don’t want your colleague talking about your stinky feet behind your back to the rest of the office.

Indulge in tea soaks :-Soak your feet in bath of black tea for at least 20 minutes a day. This is said to reduce the dampness of the feet and make it drier because of the acidic nature of tea. The tea even helps in killing the germs and bacteria, along with closing the pores on your feet

Rotate shoes :-Sweat takes time to dry, especially in shoes. Try to rotate the shoes you wear regularly so that the damp sweat does not make your feet stink and also gives time for your other pair of shoes to dry out.

Habits That can Ruin Your Skin

Here is a list of habits that you can kick in the butt:

Smoking :- Smoking kills the oxygen in the body. It not only dries the skin but also leads to premature wrinkles and loss of elasticity of the skin. Stop smoking and see the difference.

Not removing makeup :- Makeup clogs pores. To make matters worse, if you sleep with it, there are chances of developing a bacterial infection. No matter how tired you are, wipe off every last bit of makeup on your skin.

Lack of sleep :- Getting your basic daily dose of 8 hours of sleep a day is a must. Lack of sleep can let our skin look dull and also cause the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. A good night’s sleep will prevent the body from producing skin damaging stress hormones.

Insufficient fluid intake :- Water helps in cleansing the body and flushing out toxins. Drink lots of water to keep your body healthy and your skin hydrated.

Harsh scrubbing :- Scrubbing or exfoliation in moderation is good for your skin, as it removes the dead skin cells on the surface. But excessive harsh scrubbing can lead to the removal of essential oils on the skin and even cause breakouts.
